Photography

Richmond is hardly known for it's snow, but after several feet of snow fell last night, there were plenty of opportunities for frosty photography. I think the dogs enjoyed it too!

Traveling represents such a unique opportunity for amateur photographers. Not only are you exposed to new environments, but you also regard familiar environments differently. Above are two photos I captured in Seattle (top left and right) and the United Kingdom (bottom left and right).

Flowers are one of my favorite subjects for photography, not only because of the varieties in color, texture, and shape, but also because of how the petal arrangement typically follows the Fibonacci sequence. It's the perfect intersection of art and nerdiness. The pictures above were all taken at various locations around Richmond this summer.

My two dogs are also a wonderful (if oblivious) opportunity to practice photography. Pets are uniquely talented at communicating their emotions through body language, which often makes them better subjects than people.
